19 September 2018 -- Staff Development Talk on the Greater Bay Area Initiative

As preparation for an upcoming whole-school project-based learning on the Greater Bay Area, we were privileged to have Mr. Patrick Nip Tak-kuen, JP, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, as a guest speaker at our School's staff development in the morning of 19 September 2018.

The Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs provided us a vision of the Greater Bay Area Initiative as put forth in the 19th National Congress Report, shedding light on the pivotal role of this Initiative within the larger "One Belt, One Road" national development plan, as well as the unique opportunities presented to those living in Hong Kong. We are grateful for his factual outline of the Greater Bay Area Initiative and the unique role that Hong Kong plays in it. Through his candid sharing, we can engage our students effectively, thus enabling them to make informed choices about the part they may play in its success.

13 & 19 September 2018 -- Inter-house Swimming Heats and Swimming Gala

After an exciting morning of inter-house swimming heats at the Kwun Tong Swimming Pool during the second week of school, the school reconvened at the Kowloon Park Swimming Pool the following Wednesday afternoon, brimming with anticipation at the spectacular races to come.

The afternoon's events started off with an opening ceremony, with the school gathered for the School Hymn. Swimming events then commenced, with onlookers enthusiastically cheering on the participants. Sawyer House emerged as Champion of the Cheering Competition, amidst the other houses’ rhythmic and carefully choreographed chants and slogans. Skipton House and Symons House were neck-to-neck in the subsequent events, with Symons clinching the title with only two points to spare.

The Swimming Gala events ended with the Teachers Line-Throw, where staff members, spurred on by students and colleagues, attempted this life-saving event with ease. The School community then gathered to celebrate and thank Mrs. P. Hui, teacher-in-charge of the Swimming Team and Club, for her dedication and service to the School.
