Since our establishment in 1860, it has been our mission to offer an excellent all-around secondary education for girls, based on a blend of Christian values and Chinese traditions and culture. English is used as the medium of instruction in all subjects apart from Chinese Language and Chinese-related subjects. Our school offers 25 sports teams, 11 musical groups/orchestras and numerous other ECA activities.

Once admitted, your daughters will embark on a journey of discovery about the world and their place in it. At Secondary Five, students can follow either the HKDSE curriculum or the GCE Advanced Level curriculum, depending on their strengths and needs. Irrespective of their pathway, most graduates go on to prestigious tertiary institutions locally and non-locally to further their education. 

The annual school fee for the current academic year is HKD $42,000 for each local student. For each non-local student*, the school fee is HKD $118,316 (Secondary 1-3) and HKD $131,786 (Secondary 4-6), respectively. The fee for the 2026-2027 academic year may be subject to a minor adjustment upon EDB’s approval.

A. Application and Selection Details

Our selection process consists of three stages and is based on the following criteria:

1. Documentary information (50%): We assess the personal portfolio provided by the candidates.

2. Interviews and skills tests (50%).

Stage 1: Submission of Applications

  1. Open an account using a personal Google account (ending with @gmail.com) at https://admission.dgs.edu.hk to access the online application form, Portfolio Summary Form and Personal Information Form (Sports) .
  2. Complete the online application form and make an online payment of HKD $75 for the non-refundable application fee.
  3. Print a single-sided copy of (1) the Portfolio Cover Sheet, (2) Portfolio Summary Form and (3) Personal Information Form (Sports) (if any)  after completing the online application.
  4. Submit the hard copy of the following documents:
    1. Portfolio Cover Sheet
    2. Portfolio Summary Form
    3. Personal Information Form (Sports) (if any)
    4. Personal portfolio
    5. Copies of the applicant’s Primary 4 and Primary 5 school reports
    6. A local self-addressed stamped ($5.4) envelope (minimum size: 162 mm x 229 mm)
      (Please write the mailing address, application number and name of applicant on the envelope.)
  5. Send the application documents to the School General Office (1 Jordan Road, Kowloon, Hong Kong) by HAND (Mon-Fri 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Sat 9 a.m. – 12 noon, excluding public holidays), REGISTERED POST or COURIER SERVICE between 29 September and 8 October, 2025. Please indicate clearly "Application for 2026-27 Secondary 1" on the envelope.

Applications without the Portfolio Cover Sheet will NOT be processed.

In view of the possibility of postal service delays, applicants are advised to send application documents to the School as early as possible. Applications with a postage stamp later than 8 October 2025, or with a shortage of postage fee will NOT be processed.

During the first stage, applicants are selected based on the following criteria:

  1. Academic performance and conduct (25%)
  2. Academic / non-academic exposures in or outside school (25%)

 

Stage 2: Meeting the teachers

Shortlisted applicants will be notified by early November 2025. Please submit the required documents to the School by hand, registered post or courier service no later than 7 November 2025.

Applicants will meet teachers on 22 November 2025 (or 29 November 2025 in case of school suspension).

Applicants with talents in music and sports may be invited to participate in Specific Skills Tests (for Sports) scheduled for 15 November 2025 and/or Music Auditions scheduled for 6 December 2025. 

Additionally, applicants with noted strengths in different areas of interest might be invited to demonstrate their skills.
 

Stage 3: Meeting the Headmistress

Shortlisted applicants will be notified by early January 2026 to meet the Headmistress in January or February 2026.

 

B. Application Results

Having completed the recruitment process, the School will inform applicants of the results of their application by early March 2026. Successful applicants have to sign an undertaking with the School and submit their Primary Six Student Record Forms (issued by EDB) to the School to complete their registration with us.
 

Scholarship Application and Selection

Accepted students have to sit the Secondary One Entrance Scholarship Examination / Placement Test to be conducted on 9 May 2026 (or 16 May 2026 in case of school suspension). Those who wish to apply for music scholarships may be invited for assessments on 11 April 2026 (or 18 April 2026 in case of school suspension). Sports scholarships will also be offered based on students' performance in the specific skills test / their achievement records.
