From 16^th to 20^th July 2018, 2 DGS students accompanied by Mrs. CP Ho went to Fuzhou to participate in the NetDragon VR (virtual reality) and AR (augmented reality) Experiential Camp. 34 students from 7 schools joined this camp and received intensive training on AR and VR development tools provided by NetDragon.

It was a precious experience because we learnt to develop our own AR and VR applications. Initially, none of us were familiar with NetDragon’s development tools. With the help of the NetDragon trainers, and by trial and error, each school managed to produce a VR application and an AR application for a competition. Our many hours of hard work paid off as the VR and AR applications we developed enabled our school to claim the champion and first runner-up awards respectively in the competition.

Although the main focus of this camp was to learn about the development of VR and AR applications, we also had time to visit some tourist sites and to engage in team-building activities with the other schools. The most important lesson that we learnt was the significance of teamwork. We realized that work produced through team collaboration is much better than that produced by an individual. We are really grateful for having such a valuable learning opportunity.
