In early March 2018, our team comprising ten members of the DGS Electronics & Robotics Team participated in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Hong Kong Tournament 2017, a student competition where teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in an alliance format, as well as to present to judges the documentation of their development and strategies.

Over 6,000 teams competed in the FTC tournament worldwide in the 2017-2018 season, and our girls were bestowed with the Inspire Award, the top achievement in the Hong Kong Tournament, as well as the honour of representing Hong Kong in this year's FIRST Championship in Houston, Texas.

Held annually in mid-April, the FIRST Championship is a celebration of student innovation and creativity, and is one of the largest student robotics competition in the world. As one of the 128 teams entering the FTC World Championship, our team is immeasurably grateful for this valuable learning opportunity.
