69th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (Parallel Event) (21 March 2025)
In 2025, the global community marks the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women and adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (1995). The 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women took place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 10 to 21 March.
From 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm on Friday 21 March, a parallel session was held in Hong Kong before an international audience. Two DGS Model United Nations teams, representing high school students, gave a very good account of themselves when they presented papers on climate change, AI, as well as on education and training of women in Hong Kong.
Jing Ying Basketball Tournament (15-16 March 2025)
On March 15, our team played against Heep Yunn School in the semi-final match of the NIKE All Hong Kong Schools Jing Ying Basketball Tournament 2024-2025 at Kai Tak Arena. The stands were filled with teachers, family and friends, who cheered wholeheartedly for our team. Our students performed tirelessly during the entire game, and we respect and admire their dedication and commitment.
The finals took place on March 16 and Team DGS clinched fourth place (62:59 points) against Chinese YMCA Secondary School. Our students once again demonstrated impressive grit and determination on the court and we are deeply impressed with their athletic sportsmanship as many players competed and participated in handball and athletics competitions just earlier in the week. We thank our coaches and our teachers-in-charge for their jubilant support.
