The Rededication Ceremony, Cake-Cutting Ceremony and Speech Day 99-00 (January 2001)

Our Speech Day this year was officiated by Mrs. Fanny Law, Secretary for Education and Manpower, who also kindly unveiled the 140^th Anniversary Plaque mounted on the wall of Building Extension One. Four former headmistresses, Dr. C. J. Symons, Mrs. E. Lau, Mrs. D. Blomfield, and Mrs. R. Yip revisited the School with an unprecedented number of old girls, many of whom had returned from overseas especially to celebrate the School's 140^th Anniversary.

All current students attended this year's Speech Day with Forms 1 to 4 classesseated in the old netball court under a virtual marquee viewing the ceremony from two huge screens set up for the occasion. It was a memorable event for all closely related to the School.
