Students and staff alike enjoyed a fun-filled, refreshing day of sports during the Inter-house Athletics Meets held at the Wanchai Sports Ground on the 8th and 17th November.
Whether on the track or the field, girls displayed their strength and agility as they thrust javelins and shotputs, leapt over hurdles and crossbars, and sprinted through finish lines. Each house demonstrated their energetic enthusiasm in the Cheering Competition, with Sawyer House taking the trophy with their brilliantly choreographed track dance.
The Finals Day events ended with the much-anticipated Invitation Relay, where students loudly cheered on the teachers' teams, who were joined by one team of old girls in a tight race to the finish line. The whole school then reconvened in a 400-metre Fun Walk around the field, before the day ended with prize presentations with our former P.E. Sports Master, Mr. K.L. Tang as the Guest of Honour. Hurrell House eventually took first place overall, beating Sawyer House by only a few points. The two days were immensely successful, thanks to the enthusiastic participation of all girls and teachers involved.
This year's Gospel Week, themed "Lost and Found", arrived in timely fashion towards the end of October, reflecting the grace of God through Jesus Christ.
Members of the Youth Fellowship blessed the school community with moving presentations of the Gospel message throughout the week’s morning assemblies, including a contemporary worship session, a short drama depicting the parable of the prodigal son, and a mime on finding joy in the Lord. We were especially honoured to have the company of Dr. Milton Wan and Dr. Renee Ip at our evangelistic meeting. They shared with us their insights and personal testimonies of how coming into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can change our hearts, mend our brokenness, and give hope and purpose to our lives.
The School celebrated the annual Harvest Festival during this week, as students and staff gave food items and monetary donations to help the needy in our society, with the hopes of passing on God's abundant blessings in our lives to those around us.
