Three DGS girls represented Hong Kong this past summer in the 17th China Girls' Mathematical Olympiad held in Chengdu. Organized by the China Mathematical Olympiad Committee, this girls-only international competition aims to promote mathematics education, foster friendly relationships with fellow mathematicians, and nurture mathematically gifted young people. This year, Singapore, Russia, Macau and Mainland China also sent teams to the competition.

Our girls were selected into the Hong Kong Team after five months of training through the Hong Kong Academy of Gifted Education and the International Mathematical Olympiad Hong Kong Committee, and all of them returned with highly encouraging results: Wong Chi Ka of 6X was awarded a Silver medal, while Ng Sze Mai of 5W and Tam Hoi Yan of 4U won Bronze medals. We congratulate our students on their outstanding achievements.
