DGS AI Fair - A Celebration of Innovation (29 October 2025)

DGS AI Fair - A Celebration of Innovation (29 October 2025)

On 29 October 2025, Diocesan Girls' School hosted its first ever DGS AI Fair as a celebratory event of our School’s 165th Anniversary. The Fair successfully brought together students, esteemed academics, and industry leaders to explore the future of artificial intelligence in education and in our society.

We were deeply honoured by the presence of our officiating guest Professor Sun Dong, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, who exchanged ideas with all exhibitors and delivered insightful opening remarks. We were also delighted to welcome our distinguished alumna, Professor Helen Meng of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, who delivered a keynote address titled "AI for an Empowered Future: Educating the Next Generation with Intelligence, Integrity and Agency".

The Fair served as a vibrant hub for learning and professional exchange, fulfilling our mission to elevate awareness of the application of AI. Highlights included interactive booths showcasing projects from students of DGS, DGJS, local universities such as the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as well as our industry partners such as Google, Tencent and Samsung. Concurrently, we were proud to co-host the International Blockchain and Data Science Olympiads with Königsberger Bridges Institute, which attracted over 100 overseas contestants from more than 30 countries.

A significant moment of the day was the opening of the “Google Cloud Lab”, a pilot programme to integrate ethical AI and cloud technologies into our curriculum. As part of this new partnership, we appointed our first student "Google Cloud Ambassadors", who will be empowered to share their AI literacy with the wider community.

This event was a testament to our community's collective commitment to fostering innovation, and we are grateful for the support from local and international students, teachers, parents and professionals in the field that made this day a meaningful and educational experience for all.
