As an early celebration to the Chinese New Year, the school community gathered in the Assembly Hall for the annual Chinese Literary Club performance. The extravaganza began with wonderful festive music performed by members of the Chinese Orchestra to mark the end of Chinese Music Week. The group then astounded the audience as teachers were invited as surprise guests to perform alongside the ensemble, receiving rapturous applause.

The much-anticipated main event, the inter-class singing competition, soon ensued with the audience being treated to original and creative performances delivered by classes who had made the cut to compete on finals day. Decked in reds and golds of traditional costumes, the finalists gave their all on stage, performing traditional Chinese folk songs with a modern twist, complete with an integrated drama and dance routine. The day’s events culminated with an original extended drama piece set in ancient times, celebrating the beauty of Chinese literary texts and cherishing the precious opportunity we now have in receiving education today.
