Visit by Diocesan School for Girls from Auckland, New Zealand (16-25 January 2026)

Four students from Diocesan School for Girls in Auckland, New Zealand visited DGS for a 1.5-week immersion programme in mid-January. Our girls served as host families and student buddies to help our guests experience life in Hong Kong and school life at DGS respectively.

Throughout their stay, our visiting students participated in several hands-on cultural workshops organized by our school, including a Chinese cooking workshop, a Chinese instrumental workshop with the guzheng, and a Chinese painting workshop.

It was a pleasure to see students from both cities bonding so well. Our guests gained a deeper understanding of our local culture, while our own students grew in maturity as they learned how to host and take good care of their new friends. We look forward to more rewarding exchanges with our New Zealand counterparts in the future.

Commemorating Our 165th Anniversary: Symposium on Girls' Education (24 April 2026)

To commemorate the school’s 165th anniversary, the school community came together on April 24, 2026 to attend a special Symposium on Girls' Education on the topic "Nurturing Virtues and Devotion to the Nation": A Century's Legacy and Navigating the Future of Girls' Education.

We were honoured to invite Ms. Rosanna Law, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the HKSAR, to officiate the event. Afterwards, students listened to an insightful fireside chat between Prof. John Lee, President of The Education University of Hong Kong, Ms. Lee Yi Ying, Principal of Kowloon True Light School, Mr. Leung Yee Ho Genthew, Principal of Pope Paul VI College, and our Headmistress Mrs. Stella Lau.

Next, we invited two special guest speakers, Ms. Nisa Leung, Managing Partner at Aulis Capital and Prof. Bernadette Tsui, HKU Faculty of Social Sciences, to share their personal experiences in girls’ education.

Besides prominent female speakers, we have invited students from Kowloon True Light School and Pope Paul VI College as well. In addition to a sharing given by students of our own school, students shared a glimpse into their respective schools’ history and unique cultures, and how their schools have contributed to the transformation of female education in Hong Kong over the years.

Through the dialogue between prominent women leaders in different fields and future pioneers, we are inspired to pave our own way by painting our own canvases with vibrant colours gathered along our journey to success. The symposium exemplifies how women unite to empower one another, ensuring a legacy of leadership for years to come by refining us into women of excellence, both inside and out.

We would like to once again thank all guest speakers as well as Kowloon True Light School and Pope Paul VI College for participating in such a meaningful event that surely empowered our students to become future change makers in Hong Kong and beyond.

The application period for 2026-2027 Secondary Two to Five admission has ended.

===

Application period: 28 March 2026 to 16 April 2026

Since our establishment in 1860, it has been our mission to offer an excellent all-around secondary education for girls, based on a blend of Christian values and Chinese traditions and culture. English is used as the medium of instruction in all subjects apart from Chinese Language and Chinese-related subjects. Our school offers 26 sports teams, 11 musical groups/orchestras and numerous other ECA activities.

Once admitted, your daughters will embark on a journey of discovery about the world and their place in it. At Secondary Five, students can follow either the HKDSE curriculum or the GCE Advanced Level curriculum, depending on their strengths and needs. Irrespective of their pathway, most graduates go on to prestigious tertiary institutions locally and non-locally to further their education.

The annual school fee for the current academic year is HKD $42,000 for each local student. For each non-local student*, the school fee is HKD $118,316 (Secondary 1-3) and HKD $131,786 (Secondary 4-6), respectively.
