From 19-26 October, six members of the English Debating Team participated in the International Independent Schools Public Speaking Competition hosted by Collingwood School in Vancouver, Canada. Students competed over the course of three days in various categories, including persuasive speaking, interpretive reading, and impromptu speaking.

The high calibre of speakers from around the world allowed for a great deal of meaningful exchange and peer learning, ranging from the extensive collective knowledge of the international student community to the varied skills of debating, presenting, and storytelling. In the end, two of our girls qualified for the grand finals, and the team reaped results of their hard work as they were presented with the Best Asia-Pacific Team award.
