13th and 18th November 2008 - Inter-house Athletics Meet

God blessed the two-day event with glorious weather and a joyful spirit as new and seasoned athletes competed to their best ability in the field and along the tracks. We thank girls from the Singapore Chinese Girls' School for taking part in the heats and Mrs. Winnie Hioe, an old girl and a member of the School Building Sub-committee, for presenting prizes to our winners. Three cheers to God for His blessings and to everyone for their participation.

The DGS Cross Country Team captured the Division 1 Girls' Overall Champion of the Inter-School Cross Country Competition on a beautiful day at the Hong Kong Golf Club. Girls in all three grades displayed high team spirit and performed pleasingly throughout the day. We thank all team members and the teachers-in-charge for their contributions in strengthening the team before the event.

31st October 2008 - '30 Years of Reform and Opening Up' Project Sharing Day

The project that started in June 2008 bore fruit as outstanding projects were selected and over 200 students were invited to present their work to the school, parents, participants from our sister schools and special guests. The two presentations by students from The Second High School Attached to Beijing Normal University and Shanghai No. 3 Girls' High School added new perspectives to the learning. We are most honoured that Professor Pan Yong Hua, Director General of Education of the Science and Technology Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR, attended the evening sharing and shared his personal experiences during the span of reforms and opening up. His words of encouragement will be treasured as we continue to reap the benefits of project learning.

Congratulations to the team for their triumph in yet another Grand Slam and our gratitude to the Heavenly Father for His love and blessings.
