17th December 2009 - Mini Bazaar

The once-in-a-year highlight came eventually after much careful planning and preparation that started in September. Crowds of parents, DGJS girls, old girls and students filled the Basketball Court, soaking in the festive atmosphere and waiting anxiously to purchase their favourite items from among the array of products. A special note to make is that we welcomed over 100 Tack Ching kindergarten and primary students to our Mini Bazaar this year. It was a most wonderful conclusion to the First Term as everyone lived in the true spirit of 'Daily Giving Service'.

11th December 2009 - Speech Day

In preparation for the first Speech Day to be held in the temporary premises, we made some adjustments to our normal arrangements and lived in the blessings of our Heavenly Father. Our Guests of Honour, Chief Justice Li and Mrs. Li, as well as our guests, parents, friends and old girls all shared the joy of the occasion, which was further heightened by the excellent results of two girls participating in the East Asian Games: silver medals for Natasha Tang in the Women 1500m Free Style event and for Gloria Tsang in Single Artistic Cycling. It was an evening that gave us, especially our graduates and parents, long-cherished memories of the days at DGS.

19th and 23rd November 2009 - Inter-house Athletics Meet

The sunny weather and the school spirit warmed the hearts of all girls and Staff as we gathered at the Wanchai Sports Ground to enjoy the programme of events, the highlights of which were the East-Asian Games torch-relay involving the whole school and the Cheering Competition. My special gratitude goes to our Supervisor, Mrs. Ho, who came as our Guest of Honour and took part in the 400m walk with us on the Finals Day. I wish to congratulate everyone for putting in their best, the girls for their innovative cheering and dedicated participation as well as all Staff for their united effort.

28th October 2009 - Inter-school Swimming Finals

The Kowloon Park Swimming Pool was packed with excited students and teachers as the Inter-school Swimming Competitions returned to more familiar grounds. The neck-to-neck races and the passionate cheering of teams made it a most memorable event on the School's Calendar. We are particularly thankful to have captured our 22nd consecutive Grand Slam as a result of team effort and keen school spirit. We praise the Heavenly Father for a fine day of fair competition and for His grace and blessings.

19th September 2009 - Prize Presentation Ceremony of the Shamshuipo Outstanding Students Selection

We would like to thank the organizers for their hard work and feel greatly honoured to have been offered five awards from the Junior Secondary and Senior Secondary categories. I hope this event will be specially recorded in our School's history as a recollection of how warmly we have been received in Shamshuipo during our School Redevelopment Project.

Our swimmers' committed effort and team spirit were fully demonstrated in the exciting events on both days. I wish to thank Ms Jane Ng, Honorary Secretary of the Executive Committee of the PTA, for sharing her valuable time with us as our Guest of Honour and our teachers and student helpers for assuming different duties on the two days. I am also grateful to our Heavenly Father for the wonderful weather and His loving guidance, giving us a successful start in our calendar of events.

5th August 2009 - HKCEE Results Day

Photo - HKCEE Results Day

We thank the Heavenly Father for the fruitful harvest this year. Apart from the 4 ten-A scholars, 5 girls have been awarded 9 As and 5 other girls have been awarded 8 As. Of course I wish to congratulate every teacher, parent and girl for having given their personal best. Our teachers have dedicated selflessly to the development of our girls, while our parents have given them every encouragement and support they need. Girls, apart from the effort and commitment you have devoted to your studies, I am most proud of your grateful heart when I heard from your teachers that many of you have looked for them to explicitly thank them for their help and teaching. I wait to see many more outstanding young women of excellence being nurtured with a grateful heart and humble spirit.
